The text of Wakah-chan is by John Campion and Cindy Cox and draws from the spiritual tradition of the K’iche’ Maya. The Wakah-chan is the World Tree at the center of the ancient Maya universe. Translated from K’iche’ as “raised-up-sky,” it is the axis-mundi of the world and the divine portal connecting the earth to the heavens.
